Job Summary
The Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking distinguished research faculty for a tenure track, 12 month position. The successful candidate will be offered an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, productive research agenda that aims to make an impact in cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity, substance abuse, or other health conditions.

Our department seeks an individual who will conduct innovative, rigorous, grant funded research and engage in scholarly activities (peer reviewed publications, presentations, etc.). Faculty members will also have an opportunity to contribute to the research training of UK students and postdoctoral scholars, including mentorship programs, workshops, and supervised research.
The University of Kentucky is one of only eight institutions in the nation with established schools in Agriculture, Engineering, Medicine, and Pharmacy on a single, contiguous campus. Research faculty members will therefore be given the opportunity to engage in broader research and training initiatives across all colleges of the University of Kentucky, including Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Communication and Information Sciences, Health Sciences, etc. These initiatives include grant consultation and review; a dynamic speaker series and other enriching events; pilot project competitions; and outreach to the lay public.

To apply, please include a CV, cover letter, and a research statement (upload under Specific Request 1). In addition, please include the names and contact information for at least three references when prompted in the application. References will only be contacted with applicant permission, and from finalists only.

The University of Kentucky considers the health, safety and well-being of our entire community to be a top priority. In alignment with this priority, all new hires must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. For areas that fall under the federal CMS mandate, start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
