Job Description

Teva is searching for a Head of EHS to join our team at the North Wales, Chalfont and Wind Gap, PA sites. Office location for this position is in North Wales.

As the Head of EHS, you champion a sustainable EHS culture ensuring employee Safety & Health, Environmental protection, and enabling compliant operations and business effectiveness. You will: 

    Provide guidance to site managers and employees, conduct internal and support external audits, to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements and design corrective and preventative action plans
    Develop EHS Management and Safety program for the function.   
    Establish safety council in accordance with Corporate Standards.
    Identify EHS risks and define proactive mitigations. 
    Ensure that site investment and changes in processes, equipment and systems are carried out in accordance with the concepts of EHS by design and relevant EHS and GMP requirements
    Create, implement, monitor and update the site EHS plan In collaboration with the site leadership team 
    Provide necessary information and data to site managers and supervisors, Global EHS and other internal and external stakeholders, in order to support the achievement of EHS objectives and enhance companys reputation. 
    Provide site leadership with analyses of incidents and investigation reports to identify significant or notable trends and opportunities for improvement.
    Create and maintain an EHS culture throughout the site that inspires a proactive attitude and a firm belief that goal is achievable.
    Create a space where people can speak openly and are encouraged to present new ideas about EHS stewardship.
    Develop and implement training programs, provide coaching, expertise and guidance to managers and employees of the site.
    Lead continuous improvement in EHS using Operational Excellence principles and visible leadership to achieve goals and to enable compliant operations and business effectiveness
    Partner with site leadership and operational committees to drive performance.
    Implement managerial practices to ensure the sites EHS performance, modeling companys values and leadership framework.
    Serve as an influential member of the site leadership team; impacting decision making and taking an active role in promoting cross-site initiatives, team work and collaboration across site functions
    Bring global best practices into the site and actively share site perspective, knowledge and lessons learned to contribute and support a best-in-class professional level of EHS globally
    Develop trusted and proactive relationships with regulatory agencies, local community and external suppliers to promote compliance and social responsibility, in companys business interest


    Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering or other relevant discipline required. 
    Relevant Master's Degree (Safety, industrial hygiene, Ergonomics, or Environment) preferred
    Professional certifications such as: CSP, CIH preferred
    7+ years of EHS experience including leadership/management and technical knowledge (such as: waste, water, air emissions, audit and inspection, industrial hygiene, hazard communication, ergonomics, and EHS management systems). 
    Basic knowledge of local current and upcoming legislation and current best EHS practices.  
    Experience in a distribution environment a plus.
    Knowledge of applicable hazard communication and right to know regulations for US and global ex: REACH, GHS, OSHA, WHIMS, etc.
    Experience with management systems such as ISO9001; ISO 14001; OHSAS18001; 
    Project management knowledge and experience working within matrixed environments and knowledge of OPEX principles and tools.
