Job Description
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Commercial Training and Development, the Associate Director of Therapeutic Training will be responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational function of training, business planning, and effectiveness across various therapeutic areas. This individual will lead the ongoing development, implementation, and assessment of programs and initiatives that enhance and leverage the talent and knowledge throughout the assigned sales teams. Partnering with sales and marketing leadership, he/she will identify needs and/or development opportunities and address them with learning solutions that enhance the personal and professional effectiveness of the sales force and sales management. This individual will also align with sales and marketing leadership in planning to launch solutions at optimal times and in overseeing the use of strategic communications to ensure maximum "uptake" of programs. Programs may include those for new hire training, as well as for training of the existing sales force, POAs, and mass model activities to ensure consistency. 10-15% travel required.
- Lead a diverse group of professional corporate training personnel across Neuroscience and Respiratory training
- Oversee the development of programs to help sales overcome selling obstacles and teach consultative and behavioral-based selling techniques
- Lead the creation and delivery of training programs for all skill levels, including basic sales skills as well as advanced selling techniques
- Have responsibility for the development of training programs that incorporate company culture as a natural part of the selling process
- Partner with sales and marketing leadership across the organization to identify training needs, assess skill gaps, and ultimately design and facilitate appropriate and meaningful training solutions
- Work cross-functionally across the organization to understand the needs facing each team(e.g., competition) and to help align department strategies and messaging
- Provide guidance on delivery methods including technology platforms that support the sales and marketing process and how to incorporate the technology into our training strategies
- Leverage emerging training innovations when appropriate to ensure optimal outcomes
- Understand the regulatory environment for each branded solution and follow proper approval processes
- Exemplify excellent vendor management skills for optimal and on-time, on-target solutions
- Oversee the development for instructional design of a comprehensive curriculum to continually improve upon selling, negotiation, presentation, communication, listening, product and market knowledge, and other critical skills among sales teams
- Have responsibility for all new hire training and the development, implementation and measurement of continual learning programs for the sales organization
- Analyze and reviews selling strategies that result in improved sales performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 8+ years of industry experience in the following areas: sales, marketing, sales leadership and training/development
- Intimate knowledge of the relationship between sales, sales leadership, marketing and training
- Experience hiring, developing and training throughout career
- Demonstrated ability to move quickly in a dynamic environment
- Ability to develop and execute strategic training and development plans at the department and function level
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
- Demonstrated group facilitation and classroom presentation skills
- Ability to perform in high pressure and fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience leading a large team with multiple priorities
- Understanding of todays market access landscape
