Job Description

Teva's global R&D is hiring an Associate Director level statistician to join the Translational Statistics and Bioinformatics team.   This will be a critical position responsible and accountable for designing and analyzing Translational Medicine (TM) studies and serving as the point person for scientific advice on statistics and bioinformatics considerations unique to genomics and other biomarker studies. Teva's innovative portfolio is currently primarily focused on the Neuroscience and Respiratory therapy areas.
 

Responsibilities:

  Act as a project champion within the Translational Statistics and Bioinformatics team and support the TM unit from within Global Statistics.
  Provides high-quality statistical, genomics and biomarker consultation and services to all teams from discovery through  POC to loss of exclusivity.
  Consistently employs innovative study designs and the best statistical practices for data analysis and interpretation in order to maximize the value of our medicines.
  Champions and supports the TM group.
  When required, makes credible recommendations to Teva senior management about the strategic direction of TM statics and  bioinformatics.
  Partners with statistics, discovery and clinical development matrix teams.
  Contributes to developing bioinformatics and data storage company-wide solutions and builds data visualization tools.
  Works closely in collaboration with the TM experts to design and execute pharmacogenomics and biomarker studies, including targeted genotyping, GWAS, whole genome sequencing, RNA expression, protein expression and other biomarkers of interest; analyzes publicly available genomic datasets for target validation.
  Advises the TM unit on statistical, machine learning and bioinformatics methodology, including program and study design, data analysis and multivariate predictive modeling.

Qualifications

Requirements:

PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Quantitative Genetics, Biostatistics, or similar.
A broad understanding of the applications of Statistics, bioinformatics and machine learning to Research & Development.
5+ years of post-doctorate or industry experience in pharmacogenomics and/or multivariate biomarker statistical analysis   of large scale datasets with the ability to apply this to scientific problems.
Well versed in statistical, bioinformatics and machine learning methodology and implementation, data mining and visualization.
