Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE

The Specialist, Corporate Communications, is responsible for providing overall day-to-day communications support to an assigned portfolio of internal clients that represent key business and functional units, as well as special business initiatives. The Specialist will help ensure communications are on message, consistent in their quality and delivery, and measurable in their results. The ideal candidate must be a team player who works collaboratively to develop a network of strong relationships to create thoughtful, inclusive communications.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Build client relationships; develop deep understanding of communications needs of client's business
  • Partner with internal clients to develop and deploy communication editorial plans that connect associates with company priorities
  • Research, write, edit and post compelling content in multiple formats for internal and external channels
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enrich associate engagement through company events, award ceremonies, town halls and other experiential opportunities
  • Measure effectiveness of communication materials and offer solutions for improvement
  • Identify and implement new and innovative communication ideas
  • Other duties as assigned

NATURE AND SCOPE
  • Typically reports to Associate Communications Manager or Sr. Manager of Corporate Communications
  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 1-4 years


Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-3 years of journalism, public relations or corporate communications-related experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
Proven record of skills including multi tasking, work priorization, organizational skills, and meeting deadlines
Strong written and oral communication skills including advanced knowledge of grammar and punctuation
Thinks creatively
Analytical skills
