Job Summary
The F. Joseph Halcomb III, M.D. Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-eligible assistant professor faculty position in biomedical engineering, regular title series, beginning as early as fall 2022. The department seeks candidates who will engage in vigorous research applying engineering principles to healthcare challenges. Applicants with expertise applying magnetic resonance imaging methods to monitor immune cell activity in various pathologies and who can develop multispectral magnetic resonance imaging platforms using targeted tracer agents are especially welcomed. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a strong, externally funded, globally recognized research program based at the University of Kentucky and actively participate in the University’s teaching and service missions. Typical teaching load is three courses per year along with service and externally funded research and peer-reviewed publications expected as part of a research program. The distribution of effort among these activities is decided annually based upon agreement between the candidate and the department chair.
