Asset Protection (Loss Prevention & Safety) Manager

**Position Summary:**

Manages and coordinates the implementation of
Asset Protection and Safety Programs intended to protect Staples, Inc. assets
and ensure a safe work environment in Staples Supply Chain (US/Canada),
including: Fulfillment Centers; Staples Delivery Operations; Call Centers;
Sales Offices; Smilemakers; Medicals Arts Press; Staples Print Solutions;
Staples Promotional Products; Staples Technology Solutions, Business Interiors
by Staples, and Coastwide Labs.

**PrimaryDuties and Responsibilities** **:**

+ Manages Asset Protection initiatives andprograms in Staples, Inc. Supply Chain locations related to inventory loss,theft, and fraud.

+ Ensures appropriateinternal risk controls are in place through the application of programsincluding data analysis, audits, training, and investigations.

+ Supportsprograms intended to address issues related to FC shrink and cargo loss.

+ Manages the Asset Protection Associate teams responsible for front linesecurity related initiatives in FCs and other locations including, hiring,training, evaluating, and making discipline decisions.

+ Leads, coaches,partners, and influences FC/SDO teams to reduce shrink and cargo loss to ensureinternal goals are met.

+ Implements fraud/theft prevention measures and executesinvestigations, both internal and external.

+ Coordinates with law enforcement tosuccessfully prosecute theft/fraud cases.

+ Identifies issues related toe-commerce fraud and works diligently to minimize chargeback exposure andmaximize potential for sales/profit.

+ Coordinates with cross functional groupsacross multiple levels and departments to ensure seamless, integratedsolutions.

+ Manages the Safety Program in North AmericanDelivery locations.

+ Implements programs designed to improve overall safeworking conditions for the associates and reduce workers compensation costs.

+ Ensures compliance to safety training as required by OSHA, DOT, FDA, and otherregulatory agencies.

+ Supervises the execution of Hazmat, Food Safety andWorkplace Violence Programs.

+ Works with Risk Management to analyze accidentdata, develop corrective action strategies and deliver hazard mitigation.

+ Manages the WC claims process, in the field, and ensures compliance to theReturn to Work efforts.

+ Provides medical updates to field operations asrequired.

+ Supports the Staples Fleet Safety programthrough the execution of driver training, vehicle inspections, truck audits,and driver evaluations.

+ Ensures compliance with Federal DOT regulations pertainingto fleet safety, driver qualification, accident investigation, and substanceabuse testing requirements.

+ Manages programsrelated to Physical Security including security systems (CCTV, Access Control,burglar alarm protection) and the C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership AgainstTerrorism) Program.

+ Applies bestpractices, standards, and processes to achieve effective system operations,efficiencies, and savings.

+ Supervises the operation of contractual securityguard services in Fulfillment Centers to ensure safe and secure operation ofall facilities.



+ Bachelors degreepreferred or equivalent experience.

+ Minimum of 5-8years progressive loss prevention experience with supervisory responsibilities.

+ Experience in thesuccessful implementation of Loss Prevention/Shortage/Fraud ControlPrograms.

+ Experience in thedevelopment and implementation of Safety Programs intended to ensure asafe workplace and reduce/control workers compensation costs.

+ Stronginterpersonal, supervisory, analytical, and decision-making skills.
