In this role, you will maintain, enhance ADP inhouse RPDS (Remote Patch Distribution System) product.  While this teams’ primary focus is on RPDS, they always receive feedback from internal clients on RPDS improvements and new features.

You will install/configure/upgrade products that may have both mainframe and distributed components, and customize software to meet user needs.  You will be responsible for communication, scheduling, and coordination for changes, requests, and incidents.  You will initiate and participate in Proofs of Concept for new technologies, and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises.  You will be supporting  multiple projects/upgrades/initiatives simultaneously. You will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of Program Product Installations (with creating Implementation and Backout Plans).  You will advise specialists on areas to focus for installation and support efforts.  You will work with the Senior Principal Architect to ensure operations are consistent across multiple business units and organization wide goals.  You will identify and solve highly complex and critical systems related issues to meet the objectives for the corporation.  You will participate in software strategic planning and consulting on platform selection, version implementation, software product recommendation, and usage of enhanced functionality.  You will track installations, modifications, and support efforts to ensure goals are being met.  You will provide consulting expertise in identifying and solving highly-critical FTP or Money Movement issues.   

To thrive in this role, you have 12+ years of extensive experience with IBM Assembler Language running in a Z/OS environment. Our best developers are creative problem solvers who love a challenge. Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

  • Blueprints and Strategy. You will influence and govern current and future architectural blueprints and promote architectural initiatives that generate revenue, improve efficiency, and support our business strategy. You will ensure that what we do solves both enterprise and local needs.
  • You'll start every day with a scrum, working together to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate design and coding priorities.
  • Your chief role is to design, but coding is sometimes required. Once you create your design, you will guide developers to bring it to life using tools like Java, Angular, .net, or others. You will review their code, refine it if necessary, and jump in and code critical areas yourself.
  • Inevitable challenges will arise, and we'll rely on you to look for a solution. You love a challenge and revel in the opportunity of finding one.
  • Learning and Teaching. You're the technical expert on the team, so when issues arise, you'll be the one developing a fix. When you present a design, you are open to feedback from your engineer team since you believe collaboration helps strengthen your ideas, especially if someone thought of something you hadn't considered. After all, we all have the same goal, develop the best solutions we can for our clients.
  • Variety of work. There is no typical day. Some days you will dedicate to design or mentoring team members, while others you will spend on projects for quality assurance, security, UX, or any number of other functions.
  • You have 12+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.


  • You’ll have a Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent
  • 12+ years of experience with IBM Assembler Language running in a Z/OS environment
  • Strong knowledge MVS / Z/Os Internals
  • Strong Debugging skills
  • Strong Mainframe Systems Programming background, including SMPE
  • Senior level knowledge of DB2 , QMF
  • Strong knowledge of IBM Tools/Utilities
  • Knowledge of Unix Systems Services
  • Extensive experience in Scripting Languages , ie. REXX; CList programming; ISPF Dialog ; Python
  • Understanding of SSL/TLS configurations
  • Experience working with vendors to resolve software issues
  • Knowledge of Ansible, Kubernetes is a plus
  • Knowledge of JIRA is a plus
  • Experience troubleshooting any FTP/TCPIP subsystem problems and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively with application programmers and DBA’s
  • Ability to work on multiple projects
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high quality results when given a set of objective requirements
  • Ability to work after normal business hours and on weekends to perform software upgrades and coverage
  • Ability to provide 24x7 support for Payroll Support and ADP Technical Support areas

Salaried and hourly workers who work on average 32 or more standard hours per week:

Compensation for US Nevada residents:  $103,900 - $148,105
