Anaplan Business Systems Manager

**Description**

Independently manage the Staples sales compensation system (on Anaplan Platform) and the relationship with Anaplan (SaaS Provider). Responsible for the overall infrastructure, design and build of Compensation System on Anaplan. Responsible for the overall sales associate experience with Anaplan. Manage a team of Anaplan model builders. Deliver on the Compensation plan strategy Roadmap in partnership with Sales Operations Leadership.



**Impact on Business**



+ Ownership over all aspects of Commission plan calculations for 2500+ Sales Associates on the Anaplan platform

+ Key partner in Compensation Plan Strategy development with Sr. Leadership

+ Lead the development and maintenance of all field-facing Business Intelligence tools (via Anaplan) for compensation calculation and real-time tracking.

+ Responsible for overall infrastructure and integrity of Anaplan commission system

+ Oversee all inbound and outbound data feeds between Anaplan and Data Warehouse

+ Oversee the system change management, training and communication of the compensation plan changes.

+ Manage Backlog of Projects.

+ Support operational reports leveraged by Commission Execution Team



**Innovation and Change**



+ Act as the Product Owner for Anaplan Platform in the organization

+ Collaborate with Anaplan Customer Success Partner (SaaS provider)and Sr. Manager SBA Sales Admin on developing a system roadmap aligning with the Anaplan Product Roadmap.

+ Design and Architect the compensation system changes with focus on system performance, stability, automation and process efficiency.

+ Focus on Agile product development, Manage Product Backlog, Prioritize and Plan sprints of development.

+ Consistent focus on migrating Access and Excel based processes into the Anaplan platform. Continually look for system efficiency in the commission execution process.

+ Responsible for User Accepted Testing process and quality of implemented products



**Communication/Interactions: Internal & External Customers / Suppliers as well as Third Parties**



+ Organize Daily Scrum, Sprint Grooming, Sprint Planning and Sprint Review meetings in partnership with the Project Manager.

+ Participate in Weekly Key Stake holder meetings.

+ Lead all field-facing Product demonstrations as it relates to the system updates and features leveraged.

+ Will work with Sr. Manager SBA Sales Admin to ensure the proper level of communication across all of SBA Sales as it relates to system planned and unplanned outages.

+ Responsible for ensuring all direct reports are up to speed with regards to training and system enhancements.

+ Support oversight and reporting on monthly commission expense including coordination with Accounting, Finance and Sales Operations.



**People Leadership**



+ Manage a team of 4-5 Anaplan Model builders

+ Develop Subject Matter Experts in Commission plan modeling, reporting, analytics and system implementation functions.

+ Conduct full performance appraisals. Coach and support direct reports with individual development plan

+ Develop personalized Quarterly objectives and support them to achieve the goals.

+ Hire Talent with skills and train to be Anaplan Model builder with Subject Matter Expert

+ Identify and provide training of the direct reports.



**Business Strategy**



+ Work with Sr. Manager SBA Sales Admin to continually improve Anaplan infrastructure.

+ Work with Sr. Manager SBA Sales Admin to continually improve Sales Experience with Anaplan.

+ Provide input to Sr. Leadership on how Anaplan can be the enabler of Sales Compensation Strategy.

+ Identify means of increasing Sales productivity by increasing Sales connection and use of Anaplan.

+ Explore Use cases on Anaplan platform with Finance leaders in the Organization.

+ Performance and Stability of the Anaplan Platform

+ Delivery on the Compensation Plan Strategy and Roadmap

+ Usage metrics derived from Anaplan



**Qualifications**

**_Education/Experience Equivalent_**



+ Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science/Software Systems/Engineering/Math or related fields

+ 5 years of relevant professional experience.



**_Professional Certifications_**



Certified Anaplan Model Builder preferred



**_Professional Knowledge/Experience_**



+ Prior Sales Compensation System Implementation Experience

+ Prior Experience with Enterprise Business Intelligence and Analytics tools



**_Other Skills_**



+ High level of curiosity for and a logical approach to problem solving utilizing large data sets.

+ Functional and Technical Expertise in Sales Compensation Domain

+ Office 365, Microsoft Excel & Access
