SUMMARY

Supports the day-to-day execution of strategies for assigned categories and focus on reducing organizational spending to improve savings and enhance relationships with business stakeholders and suppliers. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

• Tactical Sourcing  
• Design and execute sourcing events for pertinent categories  
• Utilize available sourcing and optimization tools efficiently  
• Develop different award optimization scenarios to minimize the total cost of ownership 
• Respond to supplier and stakeholder questions (e.g., category, supply, event, price, or specification)  
• Conduct opportunity assessments, benchmarking, and should cost modeling to develop sourcing opportunities  
• Prepare category improvement projections and conduct post-implementation variance analysis 
• Identify total internal costs associated with supplier price, delivery, operations, and quality 
• Quantify the overall total ownership cost of each product or service to identify cost savings
• Work with the contract management team in the administration of contract data, addendums, item master sheets, and additional supplier documentation 
• Supplier Relationship Management 
• Support category managers in the development of supplier performance/continuous improvement targets and related scorecards to manage supplier performance 
• Develop a tracking mechanism to report and communicate savings achieved 
• Support other initiatives / projects in the company that may affect organization’s performance and collaborate with necessary stakeholders 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

The typical starting pay range for this position is between $23.20 - $32.01 per hour, although wages can very based on experience and geography.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)  Business Management, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, CPG, or similar required.
• 1 year of experience in Professional experience in procurement activities required.
• 1 year of experience in Demonstrated and proven leadership ability  preferred.
• 1 year of experience in Experience establishing business processes, managing performance, supplier relationship management, and driving organizational change preferred. preferred.
• 1 year of experience in Relevant industry experience in fields related to Sourcing and Procurement of goods, and knowledge of the Private Brand industry will be beneficial. preferred.
• 1 year of experience in Self-driven and able to work independently as well as lead and participate in cross-functional teams. required.
• 1 year of experience in Solid financial and/or quantitative modeling, highly proficient with MS Excel. required.
• 1 year of experience in Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment with several stakeholders. preferred.
• 1 year of experience in Internal or external business consulting experience is highly desired. preferred.
• 1 year of experience in Willingness to travel domestically or internationally preferred.
