Job Summary

The Omicron Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho, University of Kentucky, is seeking a live-in Housemother/Director to start June 1, 2019 for its new 42 bed, 20,000 s.f. fraternity house at 470 Rose Lane. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the following:

An understanding and appreciation of rural/agricultural values;
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with college age men and have patience and flexibility;
Excellent communication and organizational skills;
Housemother/Director experience,
Property management experience,
Experience in providing a safe and secure Greek living environment.
Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with students, parents, alumni, university personnel, and service providers.

Responsibilities of the Housemother/Director
1. Hostess/Host for all Social Functions at the house by planning, making preparations, greeting guests, parents and alumni, performing social amenities and being available to attend activities, events and conferences as needed.
2. Mentor and Educator to the collegiate brothers by teaching professional and social conduct skills and promoting cooperation, responsibility and accountability among the brothers and alumni.
3. Communication Facilitator by being available to foster dialogue addressing any issues brought forward by Collegiate Brothers, Recruits, Advisers, Alumni, University Officials and Parents.
4. Foodservice Supervision by hiring (with the House Corp Board), scheduling, supervising and evaluating the Cook/Kitchen Manager and the execution and delivery of all meals including the oversight of the subsequent clean-up and securing of the kitchen and pantry facilities.
5. Facility and Environment Overseer by ensuring a safe and productive environment for collegiate brothers, visitors and staff.
6. Public Relations Liaison by providing the VNR Alumni Relations Crescent Editors with information, data and planning assistance that results in improved alumni relations and by collecting, maintaining and safekeeping Chapter history, photos and data.

Time Frame: Fall of 2019 June 1st then report 5 days before the first day of classes in both the Spring and Fall Semesters, and leaving after the last occupant has moved from the House.

Salary Range: $25,000.00 $35,000.00 annually Commensurate with experience and qualifications

1) Newly constructed private live-in residence with washer and dryer and kitchenette including all utilities (water, sewer, trash, electric/gas and internet service .
2) All meals that are prepared for the Chapter members.
3) Mileage allowance per the Federal Government rate;
4) Reserved Parking space;
