Job Summary | The Markey Cancer Center is seeking an Abstractor Coordinator Senior Regional. This position is responsible for collecting detailed cancer information on behalf of the Kentucky Cancer Registry for cancer patients diagnosed and/or treated in multiple Kentucky non-hospital facilities. Data are abstracted through chart reviews that may be conducted in person or through remote electronic health record (EHR) access. Data must follow national coding standards established by the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) Program, the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) and the American College of Surgeons. Data are collected using a wide variety of software applications and EHR systems. Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification is essential. In addition, this position is responsible for a performing annual death clearance processing for the Kentucky Cancer Registry and Inter State Data Exchange. Duties include communication and coordination with external agencies and state cancer registries. This position will have a fully remote work arrangement. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Familiarity with laptop computer operation and basic maintenance. Experience with medical terminology, coding or medical records. Experience with MS Windows, Excel, and EPIC. Cancer coding desired |
